Emergency Dispatch may be more commonly referred to as 911. Every town has an Emergency Dispatch center in which all calls relating to any emergency are answered followed by immediate dispatch.

During a robbery the perpetrator may have a weapon which creates an even more dangerous situation. Therefore, the police must be dispatched to the location as an emergency situation. This can be another situation where timing is critically important.
